What this tool is for
Decode a QR code from an image, a pasted screenshot or your camera, and read what it actually contains before you visit it. That last part matters: a printed code gives no hint of its destination, and stickers placed over legitimate codes are a real payment scam. Decoding happens locally, so the image is never uploaded.
How to use it
- Drop an image, paste a screenshot, or turn on the camera.
- Read the decoded content as plain text.
- Check the destination before deciding to open it.
Frequently asked questions
Why is my code not recognised?
Usually low contrast, a heavy crop, or a photograph taken at an angle. Crop tightly around the code, keep it square to the frame, and make sure the quiet margin is included.
Is the camera feed sent anywhere?
No. Decoding runs in your browser and the video never leaves your device. Permission is requested only when you press the camera button.
